Bushido Code Interview 01/06/21
MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences
My band is Bushido Code. This band is heavily influenced by the bands we came up listening to, But with little extra! Bands like Metallica, Testament, Death, At The Gates but also got a little All Out War and Buried Alive sprinkled in.
MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from
Well, the world really! I mean we do have this cool samurai story background which we use to tell the real story. It’s ultimately a look in the mirror at ourselves, A gut check.
MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?
I would have to say for each guy its a little different. But as far as delivery and structure I would have to say Harvest. Everyone agrees its the strongest song on the album. But its tough for us, this album we feel all the songs can stand on their own.
MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2021
Well with the pandemic its hard to set anything in stone but we recently signed a touring deal with Stronger Booking in Europe so we will be heading there at some point. Hopefully supporting a sick metal band. We would love to play any festivals there. And of course, we will be playing here in the US as much as possible when the world gets back to normal.
MM: What can we expect from you guys live
An intense and aggressive sound that is comparable to what you have heard on the recording. We work hard to make sure our live performance matches the recording. I personally think its one of our better qualities as a band.
MM: What do you like best and worst about touring
We love seeing new cities and new faces for sure. Love being in the van with the guys. All the hilarious conversations and situations. But as I get older I hate not having a good place to sleep and shower. And I cant function with out a decent amount of sleep lol.
MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies
Wow thats tough. First would be Testament for sure. I would add The Haunted - they’re so sick. And probably All Out War, that tour would freaking rule, OMG!!!
MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why
Skid Row and Pantera. It was one of my first arena shows and Pantera was sick. They parked their bus outside the gate and hung out with everyone after the show. It was the coolest.
MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with music?
Just getting anyone to listen i think is huge! But of you can impact someone on a personal level thats what really matters.
MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time
Testament "Practice What You Preach" and Life of Agony "River Runs Red".
MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people watching you?
Yes i was 15 playing in my first band Incarnate and death metal at that time was underground as hell. We played a show in our town in NC and there were all these marines there, they went nuts, dude got his eye all messed up. And that’s when I knew i wanted to do this forever!!!
MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.
True story- so when I was a kid I would steal copies of metal magazines because I was poor. And I would hang band pics like a collage that I saw or thought was cool. I had this pic on my wall of Rodger Miret of Agnostic Front on there. Fast forward years later we are playing with AF and I'm like “Roger! Man, I had a pic of you on my wall when I was a kid” And he said “Did it gave you nightmares”. Haha... I love that guy.
MM: Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person
I would have to say probably Ozzy, I mean from Black Sabbath to his solo stuff he has been a pillar in metal for EVER!
MM : What's the most important thing to the band right now?
Our plot to take over the world!! No seriously, getting out there and playing And keep this energy that we have inside the band going.
MM: If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?
Any older metallica song like Damage Inc, Battery, Creeping Death, man they are all shredders.
MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band
Well if you want to hear metal that will melt your face off and distroy your enemies, then you should listen. And if you're scared, I heard Taylor Swift has some kinda song out.
MM: Four words to describe your Band
Brutal, Chaos, Memorable, Stories
