MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences?

We are currently a trio, who possibly will be adding to us in the upcoming days, that plays a mix of melodic metal and death metal, with some doom and blackened vibes sprinkled on top.

We are based in Stavanger of Norway and have been playing for 2 years now. Simeon Ekse, guitar, started the band with his brother David Ekse, former vocals, and their cousin Halvar Moen, guitar. Soon after that, I, Daníel Þorsteinsson, joined the band on bass with Daniel Bryne, former drums.

Due to troubles with mental health, had David to leave. Simeon then dropped the guitar and took over on vocals. Around the same time, Daniel Bryne left due to creative differences and lack of time to be in a band.

We have our eyes on a drummer now, a guy we know who is extremely talented and we wish he is able to join.

Another name worth mentioning would be Christian André Rødfjell, who has been featured on couple of songs as clean vocals, as well as being a lyricist who owns some parts of couple of songs.

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from?

It's usually just starts with a riff and a word, then we try to make a story around that specific theme!

MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?

My personal favourite right now is Corruption from our upcoming album “New Era”, 25.11.2022

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2023?

Currently we are booked for a festival in Kristiansand in March, and we are working on playing in Trondheim, Tromsø and Oslo after we had to cancel those shows last time after David left unfortunately. But they are open fornus to comebavk so hope all the places fit the schedule

MM: What can we expect from Dark Delirium live?

A lot of energy and headbanging. We do love to keep the energy up and let people go crazy in the crowd due to our heavy melodic riffs and screams

MM: What do you like best and worst about touring?

Oh wow, I absolutely love hanging around with the guys, and touring allows us to see different places and experience new cities together. We always have so much fun. The worst part is probably sitting in a car, tightly packed with our gear, specially if it lasts more than 3 hours and we are on our Way home with a hangover

MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why?

Alestorm at Folken, Stavanger Norway, absolutely amazing live with such a crazy energy. Ive seen many fun acts but this one was a real party

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with

To be apart of a band consisting of great guys, that has made 3 albums and done so with passion, which keeps a steady amount of fans enjoying us. Just having some loyal fans that wait passionetly for more music is an accomplishment in its self

MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time?

The Wall, Pink Floyd and Apastrophe(‘), Frank Zappa. Absolutely great albums, both following the element of story telling throughout the whole album, something Im a big fan of

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people watching you?

That was for a singing competition for youth clubs in Iceland, we went to the Final in Reykjavík where I played guitar. It was magnificent, I have always loved attention

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall?

I had two posters of Pink Floyd on my wall, one being the Dark side of the moon, the other being the Division bell

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person?

Black Sabbath, no competition, their first album was revolutionary to the genre

MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now?

To play live I think, we all love to do that and we love To perform our own music for people to enjoy, itd what we burn for

MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?

I would love to do a cover of Here we kum by Molotov, a mexican band. Its a fun song, its untraditional and to make it into metal would be really fun. Also helps that it could get us some more fans in Latin America.

My second choice would be “My mother told me”. Its a cliché at this point but singing it in its original language, correctly, is rare and the story surrounding the song fits the genre and our themes. Egill Skallagrímsson was a young boy who murdered a boy after he cheated in a game. After his mother found out she basicly supported him in his decision, saying he will become a great man who kills others. Pretty brutal

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band

We are down to earth guys who do this for fun, buying and listening to us would directly support a band that does music for the art of it and helps us immensely to be able to further our artistic projects, Id also like to say because, and I might be biased, the music is pretty okay

MM: Four words to describe Dark Delirium

Dark, scary, passionate and hard-working

Final Words for your fans and our readers
