Interview with Billy Taylor from DeeVer   22.12.18

MM: First up , why the band's name DeeVer and What made you decide to use that as the name of your new band?

BT:We like one word names, it’s nice and simple! Plus the urban dictionary definition is basically a bag of shit or an unwanted gift, so it’s quite ironic!

MM: When was the band first formed and how did you all meet?

BT:We weren’t fully formed until about March/April 2017. Me and phil have been best mates for years, higgy we knew of through a friend and the same with Stevie. We were lucky that we all live within 30 minutes of each other and are on the same page musically!

MM: How impatient are you waiting for your debut Album "You need this" to be released?

BT:We’re excited, we can’t wait for people to hear this album. We understand there’s correct ways of releasing music to give it a better chance of being heard, and that’s why it takes a little time!

MM: Whats your favorite track on the album today and why?

BT:My favourite changes depending on my mood! ‘Jim’ is the most sentimental so I’ll say that one today!

MM: Can you give us some insight into the track "Only Enemy"

BT:It’s happened to me and I’ve seen it happen to others. Basically falling into the trap of letting social media dictate how happy you are. Chasing likes, chasing followers in the hopes it’ll make you happy. We can all forget to live in the real world sometimes.

MM: Which two tracks would you play me to introduce me to DeeVer.

BT:Only Enemy because it gives you a taste of what’s to come on our debut album and ‘Alright’.

MM: Can you tell us plans you have for a tour and if you will be having a release party?

BT:Yes we are planning as we speak! We want to tour the album as soon as it is out!

MM: If you could play support to any band or artist, past or present, who would you choose?

BT: Alter Bridge. They’ve been a huge influence for me for years so it’d be great to share a stage with them guys!

MM: Do you have any regrets leaving Inglorius?

MM: Obviously you would have seen Nathan James video rant what are your feelings on it ? it was very david brent wasnt it?

BT:I don’t have any thoughts on the matter. My focus is all on DeeVer and where we are heading.

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far?

BT: Easy answer: 'You Need This' by DeeVer.

MM : What was the first concert you ever went to?

BT:Other than accidentally witnessing Def Leppard play when I was 8. I was a big ska/punk fan as a kid and the first gig I paid to go to was a band called Jesse James at Newcastle uni.

MM : What bands are you listening to at the moment?

BT:Just a Ride, Hardcore Superstar, Temple of One, Shinedown, Needtobreathe

MM : What phrase best describes the band and it's mood right now?

BT:Loud and eager!
