MM: Thank u so much for taking the time to chat to the metal gods meltdown today. For those unfamiliar with you guys Can you give us a very brief history about Dungeon Wolf and what does Heavy Metal means to your personally
DW:Basically I’m a poet and these songs live inside me. I worked with two local musicians I plucked out of the local village (I live in a large home/castle overlooking such village). I recorded this album several months ago and it was picked up and due to be released by Iron Shield records on Sept. 7th.
MM:Why the name Dungeon Wolf
DW:How much FUCKING time do you have? Despite being wealthy and attractive I’ve been in the underground scene. A man like me playing shit bars for ugly women and stupid men. Can you believe it? I was a virtual GOD in Cleveland which is kind of like the PARIS of the USA for all you EUROTRASH reading this and people would pay just to hear me play guitar. Then I moved to Florida and have had to become a RECLUSE because the people are SOOOOOOO FUCKING STUPID here. I read great literature and record albums which are REVOLUTIONARY while the local inhabitants spend their time putting deer urine on themselves and standing out in the forest shooting at animals for fun.
MM: Which two tracks from "Slavery of Steel" would you play me to introduce me to your band
DW:Why would I play you just two tracks? There are 8 tracks on the album and you should listen to it in its entirety as intended. Would you sever a piece from a great painting in order to ingest the ENTIRETY its beauty? I think not. HOLY FUCK!!!
MM: Would you like to Tell us a few thoughts or stories behind some of the songs on the Album
DW:Ready to have your FUCKING mind BLOWN???? The album is very involved and will serve as the basis of an RPG I’ve been working on. You could say the album is a giant advertisement for the RPG. So anyway, the song BORDERLANDS details one of the main characters you can play as named “Mela”. Mela, like all merpeople, is able to turn into a full human so that she can walk on land. To follow "landbound custom", she finds clothing and shoes (conveniently growing on trees, as is common on Xanth). Of particular concern is which panties to choose - after all, there is significant interest in the color of her panties. After trying on dozens of pairs, Mela finally decides on plaid (the color she would choose was the subject of an Impossible Question that the Demon X(A/N)th asked the Good Magician Humfrey.
Gwenny has to prove her courage to become leader of Goblin Mountain. Her task is to steal an egg from the Roc's nest. The two storylines are brought together when Mela has to help save Gwenny from a Roc and a hard place. Her only place of refuge is to the EAST in the forbidden BORDERLANDS.
MM: The Album cover is very eightes, did you guys have a lot to do with the actual design
DW:Oh yeah? What makes it 80s? It’s FUCKING AWESOME is what it is.
MM - Which bands/artists have influenced you the most over the years?
DW:I used to have influences but I’ve been so much better than all of them for so long that I’ve forgotten.
MM: Two current bands would you most like to tour with if given the choice?
DW:I’m not really into hearing other bands but I would like to hangout with LARS ULRICH. I really admire him as a businessman and would like to discuss ways to implement PROFIT structure within the confines of the music industry and pesky govt. REGULATION.
MM : What are your long term goals for Dungeon Wolf
DW:COMPLETE AND TOTAL GLOBAL DOMINATION
MM: When did you first become interested in Metal and being in a Band?
DW:I used to beat up my younger brother all the time. One day I was giving him an EPIC beating and I heard my WHITE TRASH neighbor driving down the street playing REIGN IN BLOOD by SLAYER. I thought “WOW. HOW COOL”. It made me kick my brother’s ass that much harder and now I kick life’s ASS cuz I’M MORE METAL THAN ALL!!!
MM:Tell me why we should watch out and listen to Dungeon Wolf?
DW:Because you don’t want people to think you’re a complete and TOTAL FUCKING IDIOT. That’s why.
