Fractures & Outlines Interview
2nd June 2019
MM: How would you best describe Fractures and Outlines and who would it most appeal to?
Fractures & Outlines is a perfect mix of catchy hooks and heavy breakdowns and is meant for both Metal & Punk fans.
MM: You recently released ”Defenseless” from your up and the coming debut album of the same name. whats the general feedback been like so far.
So far we've had pretty good feedback! We've received a lot of positive comments from our fans, family, friends, and fellow musicians, and all are excited to hear more of our music.
MM: Where do you draw your inspirations from (the world is pretty fucked up so you must have lots to draw it from )
The world is indeed a fucked up place, so we've got plenty of subjects to attack. On our new LP, we mostly tackle depression, anxiety and other life problems such as addiction/alcoholism.
MM: Can you tell us your plans for the yearly festival and tour wise
We've got a few dates lined up for the summer, and we're working on bringing and sharing our music to further cities and places. We're also organizing our own benefit festival (Floodfest) to help victims of the floods in our area.
MM: What can we expect from Fractures and Outlines live?
Lots of energy and crowd interaction. We deliver a tight set and do everything in our power to entertain a crowd.
MM: if you could choose 3 bands you love to go out on the road with and why
Will have to go with our buddies in Ghostblade Aarsen, and Emborne Drive because they're like brothers to us and we'd be guaranteed a good time.
MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why?
I'd probably say Rammstein. I'm not necessarily a fan of the music, but man do they give a crazy show.
MM: Is there a song written by someone else that you love and wish you'd been the one to write?
Stars Before the Sun by Capstan. This song is a work of art and demonstrates everything I love about music.
MM: Hows the Metal Scene in Canada
I can't talk for the whole Canadian metal scene, but I can say that people in our area are very passionate about music and support the locals as much as they can.
MM: What was the last Album you bought/ Downloaded.
In Real Time by Colorsfade, a super solid punk band from Gatineau, Québec.
MM: Which are your Two favorite Albums of all time and what they have meant to you personally
Hard to answer this on behalf of the whole band, so I'll answer for myself: Discovering the Waterfront by Silverstein and No Closer to Heaven by the Wonder Years. They both mean so much to me because I listened to them during difficult times and I was able to relate to the lyrics and emotion, which helped me pull through my life issues.
MM: What makes your band different from all the other bands around today?
We're innovative in the way we create music, we aren't afraid to explore new horizons, and we give a hell of a live show. We're also very close to our fans and love to interact with them.
MM: Ultimate goal for Fractures and Outlines
Be able to live off our art so we can focus solely on sharing our message to the world.
MM: Four Words to describe Fractures and Outlines
Energetic, Solid, Fun & Farty. Hahaha
MM: Why should we Buy "Defenseless"
We've been putting work into this album for over a year and I believe it shows our potential and what we're able to do. If you're a fan of Post-Hardcore like Silverstein, Alexisonfire, and Beartooth, this album is for you. It transitions from catchy choruses to heavy breakdowns and from kick-in-the-face riffs to sing-along ballads. Being a fan of anything listed above makes it at least worth a listen!
