MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences

  • Heathen Hearts is a metal / hardcore band from Finland. We were formed in fall of 2021, so we’re now a bit over one year old. Everybody's influences vary, and all of us listen to a lot of different genres. But maybe hardcore wise bands like Terror, Comeback Kid, Get  The Shot, Your Demise are big influences at least from the attitude stand point. Of course we have also a lot of influences from various more traditional melodic metal in which most of us grew up listening to.

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from

  • Music wise it is spontaneous. Melody, riff or rhyme which comes to mind and then it turns up either a one off or even a complete demo of a song. Our vocalist Antti writes most of our lyrics, and they are of the darker side of human life so not anything happy for sure.

MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?

  • ICHOR, the opening track from our first EP might be the most important, but favorites are the ones we are now just recording for our next EP. Obviously.

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2023

  • We are booking shows for next year in all over Finland to support our next release. Hoping also to expand the borders soon.

MM: What can we expect from Heathen Hearts live

  • Authentic, aggressive music but yet happy and enjoyable time with the people who share the interest in our style of music and attitude.

MM: What do you like best and worst abt touring

  • I get so nervous before the show that I’m not feeling well and cannot concentrate on anything so the waiting must be the worst part. Best thing of course it’s the actual show and the feeling afterwards.

MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies

  • Terror, Comeback kid, Sum 41.

MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own)

and why

  • Kreator in Tuska festival, Finland 2008. Back then I was not listening to Kreator, not thrash metal, but that was mind blowing.

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with

  • To get such good feedback from the first EP and live shows.

MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time

  • Oh shit. Cannot name just two, apologies. I listen to a lot of different genres depending on the mood so I cannot say.

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have

people watching you?

  • Horrible but at the same time very exciting and tempting to try this again. Still have not gotten over the anxiety before the show but am beginning to have more control over it.

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.

  • Iron Maiden & Children of Bodom.

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other

person

  • Metallica. Not on my playlist but in my opinion this is a fact.

MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now?

  • To get out the best possible and genuine music we can, and after that showing the world with the live shows where we stand.

MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?

  • Madonna - Papa don’t preach. Because it’s the best song in the world.

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band

  • If you like aggressive and authentic music, poured straight from the heart. There you go.

MM: Four words to describe (band Name)

  • Freedom of individual’s choice
