                                                                                                                In Signs Interview  22/03/2021

MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences

I'm Arsen from In Signs band. We play Indie Rock, Alternative, Pop Rock. Currently, we are based in Kyiv, Ukraine. We started as a Post-Grunge band and released an EP with this genre. I was a huge fan of Three Days Grace with their frontman Adam Gontier and Breaking Benjamin (I'm still a fan) so 'early' In Signs were inspired by these bands. Later on, we started to make experiments with our music. As a result, we released Blood For Blood, Knock Knock with much more interesting sound.

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from

I'm a songwriter in the band. All songs were written with an acoustic guitar. I used to do this from the very beginning. There are many things and people who can inspire me. I like to be alone in the room when I'm writing. Sometimes it happens in the studio. I can't tell you the exact thing that inspires me, it happens all the time in different situations.

MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?

Each new one is a favorite one I believe. But Too Much from our first EP is my favorite one. There's a history behind this song, this is one of the oldest songs for the band and we play live it at each concert. I.m in love with our upcoming song called 'Bloom'. It is a very emotional single, hopefully, it will be out soon.

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2021

Currently, we don't plan concerts or festivals. We have a bad situation with Covid here in Ukraine so we decided to stay in the studio in this hard time and work on the new songs. After the lockdown, we would like to arrange a small tour and see how it's going on cause the world has changed a lot.

MM: What can we expect from In Signs live

First of all we a rock band playing guitars, bass, drums so each concert is a rock concert with huge energy. Usually, our set-list is up to 20 songs and some of them were not released yet. There are many bangers in there, but also some mellow songs we have.

MM: What do you like best and worst abt touring

For now, we had a small tour in Ukraine and we liked it cause we traveled by car and made stops wherever we want. It was a cool experience.

We don't have a huge experience with touring so I can't tell you the worst things here cause we didn't face them yet.

MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies

I hope one day we will play alongside Foo Fighters, Breaking Benjamin, and Imagine Dragons. Let's see...

MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why

There's a cool story. In Feb 2020 we played in Stereoplaza but a week after we came there again to another concert. Bring Me The Horizon came to Kyiv. I believe it was the most memorable concert. Except the music, they have a very cool show.

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with

I think the biggest accomplishment is 2 our concerts. The first one in Stereoplaza because it is one of the biggest places to have a concert in Ukraine. And the second one is a concert at Atlas club. We supported there Danny Worsnop from Asking Alexandria and We Are Harlot with his solo concert. We played our acoustic set there and get huge support from the audience.

MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time

For sure it is Sempiternal by Bring Me The Horizon and One-X by Three Days Grace.

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people watching you?

It was the biggest life event for me at that time. Of course, I was nervous but it all faded away when I made a step on the scene. It was a small bar, we asked our friends to join the concert and they helped us a lot with their support. I still remember each friend who joined me there at my first concert ever.

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.

I had two posters. They are still on the wall of my parents' house. The posters are black-and-white with full band photos of Linkin Park and System Of A Down.

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person

For sure the bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin made a huge influence on the industry but I think that Nirvana did it more than others. All modern rock sound is coming from Grunge that raised a lot of good modern musicians.

MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now?

The most important thing for us right now is studio work. Unfortunately, we are not able to play live or touring to the different cities. I have many new songs to be recorded so the studio is the best option now.

MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?

For sure it is Metallica's song Nothing Else Matters. Sometimes I played it live on my acoustic solo concert. This song is very special to me. This is my first tattoo and after that, I started to write my songs. I don't listen to Metallica all the time and I don't know all their songs but Nothing Else Matters is my favorite song of all the time.

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band

We care a lot about lyrics as well as music. We don't want to be another commercial band with just good songs because we want to make something special. That's why we want to be experimental with our songs, so many generations would like to listen to us. I want that our songs can live through time.

MM: Four words to describe In Signs.

Passion, energy, emotions, truth.

Final Words for your fans and our readers.

I don't like commercial songs with empty lyrics. Just listen to good music. And I'm talking about not just In Signs. There are many modern bands I believe in. Like Architects, Greta Van Fleet... I want to believe that the world's top charts will be changed soon.
