Metal Machine are "AWESOME"! Seriously Metal Machine are a fully firing Heavy Metal mean and rabid animal flying, at you like a pouncing tiger on amphetamines, these guys put the "Heavy" in Metal! If I was to tell you the band contains musicians who have played with the likes of Testament, Masterplan , Killing Machine and Exorcism to name but a few , you will start to get the idea of what a monster "Free Nation" is!
Nine tracks of intense ,high powered and formidable Metal await you, and from the start you are taken into a screeching maelstrom from the pits of damnation, as band leader Csaba Zvekan vocals pierce your psyche as "Skull and Bones " opens, it is thrashy , powerful and a furious opener to whet your appetite and by no means is this album one dimensional there are insane screams, but also moments where the tempo isn't as highly manic. It works really well the mix between high intensity screams and a normal pace, case in point is the second track "Nailed To The Cross" its got a chorus and chugging guitars that will please old school Metalheads and Power Metal Fans alike.
"Detox" is addictive, and the telling lyrics of the desperation of staying away from drink, the drugs, the agony of fighting and getting it out of your mind delivers on all fronts. "Morning Star" is the first single from "Free Nation" its fast and scintilating solos will shred your brain , and Zvekans screams will slice through a plate glass window.
"World of Temptation" is a slower number but with some kick ass riffs and screams that would have many Judas Priest fans transfixed (not just this track I need to add) "Hell Raiser " is a pounding tune dedicated to "Bubi Bear" a lost friend and companion of Zvekans.
"Lord of War" is a fist thumping anthem and a head bangers dream. Coming in at nearly seven minutes we have penultimate track "Black Sun" which for me is the winner, only just, as all the tracks on this opus are a Metal heads dream.
But "Black Sun" has some truly jawdropping solos , vocals and all round musician ship to make the whole world take notice of this Phenomenal Metal Band. The album ends with "Free Nation" with thought provoking lyrics, scintillating axe grinding , and hell hammer drums the band finish on a hell to leather high. This album will not let you down, this is A PURE METAL MELTDOWN!
