                                                                                                                      Mindwake Interview  16/11/20

MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences

MW:Mindwake makes music that is violent, heavy, brutal but still remains melodic with riffs that you could probably find in nu metal bands. We have a lot of different influances it’s kind of difficult to answer that question, in our songs we have lots of styles like deathcore, hardcore, nu metal some slam part etc..

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from

MW:The nu metal era is a huge influence for us but we modernise it with more brutal and chaotic and sometimes cinematic parts. For the personal aspect of the question i must say that guitarists like Adam Demicco from lorna shore are a great influence for me, playing technical stuff but with a melodic and occult atmosphere.

MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?

MW:Our favourite song to play live is Reset, i never see someone who does not move in this song and the end is probably the heaviest thing you could hear live On the record, our favorites songs are probably Gaïa’s throne or b-52, that’s the ones that are musically more interesting but in fact we love all of them. MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2020 Unfortunately for the moment we can’t really play due to the virus, We only have a few gigs booked for the end of the year, We went into a new recording process during this pandemic to make new stuff (stay tuned).

MM: What can we expect from Mindwake live

MW:Mindwake live is a pure shot of adrenaline, chaos melted with an unique experience, you should try it!

MM: What do you like best and worst abt touring

MW;The best thing is Playing live shows everydays, playing music everydays, visiting places we could never have been to and meeting people that like the same music as ours. Touring musicians is the best job we could ever find ! The worst part? Can’t really answer for all the band members, personally, i miss a lot my other guitars and my cat.

MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies

MW:Can’t answer for everyone in the band but i’d say: Lorna Shore, Thy art is murder and Chelsea grin. MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why That’s definitely Slipknot, the 12yr old me was totally blown away by their show, I discovered the band with the iowa album, and when i finally could see them live it was an achievement in my life.

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far

MW: The biggest accomplishment for the moment has been to make our album b-52 and releasing it. We are proud of this one but a lot more for the things that are coming next.

MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time The fist one is “Iowa” by Slipknot and the second one is “Deep Blue” by Parkway drive MM: MW:Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people watching you? I remember, for me it was more like a party where we could play songs that had been written in my bedroom, i still see gigs as parties where everyone is here to listen to the same style of music and we’re all here for one thing, enjoy it to the fullest / having a good time.

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.

MW:Before i was 10 i had many poster like Linkin park , Slipknot , Korn etc… but then i painted every walls in black and put art on the walls or frames with vinyls from band i liked in it like Emmure, Chelsea grin, Sylar and all theses bands

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person

MW:I think that the band that influenced a lot were the bands that we talked a lot about (on TV, magazines etc…). A lot of little bands have been a huge influence for me and maybe deserve more merit for what they did. Everyone have different influences, can’t

MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now?

MW:Right now we try to promote our album but it’s really hard without touring or a big wallet to put money on advertising these days and we put a lot of work into making the next one better.

MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?

MW:Can’t really tell.. for me the most interesting part in music is creating something, not playing like someone. But i’ll probably be “Lorna Shore - Grimoire” or “John 5 - Black Widow Of La Porte” , I studied these songs to increase my skills and i’m kinda proud of the fact that i can play it.

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band

MW:You definitely should listen to it, even by curiosity, it’s something different but with all the ingredients we need to hear, and sure if you like it, you could buy it to help the band and that will motivate us to share more of our music with you guys.

MM: Four words to describe Mindwake

MW:Violent, Chaotic, from outerspace Final Words for your fans and our readers We hope you liked our Album B-52, we put a lot of effort in it. Don’t hesitate to let us know what you think about it and stay tuned for the next one!
