                                                                                Sonic Circus! Interview 19/06/21

MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences

  • Sonic Circus is from Melbourne Australia, Rock / Prog band. Influences band wise are Tool, Karnivool, A Perfect Circle, Faith No More etc....

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from

  • We tend to ignore other bands when writing and try to create our own style and sound, there’s no rules, whatever we come up with is what we have. But the creation of the sound is what inspires us to keep going.

MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?

  • My fave is Over The Line, I think all 3 of us love that song and the vibe it creates.

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for  2021

 - with Covid still rampant around the world there are no plans to tour overseas at this stage (we arnt allowed out of the country anyway!)

MM: What can we expect from you guys live

  • if we eventually get to play live it would be a high intensity show with lighting and soundscapes to match

MM: What do you like best and worst about touring

  • The best part is playing our music to people and having them sing back to us, and the happiness it brings to people.

  • Worst - the amount of “downtime” between shows

MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies

  • Tool, KISS

MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why

  • For me - Sepultura Melbourne early 90s. Insane band live at the time, I thought the roof of the venue was going to cave in it was so crazy

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with

  • Finally getting our album out after years of setbacks

MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time

  • Queensryche Operation Mindcrime

  • KISS - Destroyer

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people watching you?

  • I was a drummer back then, 18 years old, shitting myself with a terrible $100 buck red Pearl kit. It was scary but exhilarating at the same time

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.

  • Everyone and everything. My bedroom wall was completely covered in posters. I had some big Iron Maiden ones and KISS

MM: Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person

 - Eddie Van Halen

MM : What's the most important thing to the band right now?

  • Right now our guitar player Vik has just become a dad for the first time, so the health of him, his wife and baby are by far the most important thing right now.

MM: If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?

  • Tears for Fears - Shout. I would love to heavy that song up and add some cool parts to it

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band

  • The album we have has been a Labor of love over 3 years, with love, death and positivity all rolled into 1 package. We feel like we are creating something outside of the box with songs that will appeal to people who like everything from Progressive Rock to Heavy Metal and everything in between

MM: Four words to describe your Band

  • Funky, Heavy, melodic, catchy

MM: Final Words for your fans and our readers

  • thanks so much for the interview and support we’ve received from people all over the world! Means a lot to us.

  • You can find our debut album “Everything” on all streaming services and Bandcamp
