Hailing from Atlanta, GA (USA) the Sixxs are a rising force in the current rock scene and "Hollow Shrine" is the bands debut.
Opening with a doleful tone "Dreamers” it transmutes into a hard rocking number, which promises much for this debut.
You get the instantly catchy and likable "Long Ago" These guys can rock with the best of them as they continue to turn up the heat and bombard you with songs that will have a crowd singing along in no time .
My Personal favourite is "Waste of Time" its a lighter song, but ticks all the boxes.
The instrumental "Coke Can Steve" has some superb licks and riffs.
Opportune Time" is a great title for a song and this is surely The Sixxs time to make people sit up and take notice.
The album finshes with "Weeping Willow" which reminded me heavily of Page and Plants work, it has the atmospherics and soothing tones to finish of a strong debut from these Atlanta rockers.
If you are a fan of Muse, Soundgarden, System of a Down and Alice in Chains these guys willl appeal.
This is an album that will see them not only appealing to rockers but crossing into the mainstream.
The band have already played with Adrian Belew Power Trio, Winger, and Buckcherry, The band has toured extensively both in Europe and the US, being the support for bands such as the legendary Wishbone Ash, and one of the biggest power trios around, The Winery Dogs (Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan, Richie Kotzen).
Check them out they will be on tour in Europe soon supporting prog rock giants Spock’s Beard, so get yourself along and watch The Sixxs shine !
