                                                                                                          Wasting Time  Interview   25/07/20

MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences

WT:We’re a four-piece pop-punk band based in Toronto, Canada. The current lineup of the band consists of: Mad Vlad on vocals and guitar, Mark on lead guitar, Mikey on drums and Mike (me) on bass. Our biggest influences are the more melodic punk bands out there like: Alkaline Trio, Blink-182, MxPx, Smoking Popes and Green Day.

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from

WT:Life, love, scary books, good food and bad jokes.

MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?

WT:We all seem keen to play our latest single, “My Limited French” when practicing these days.

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2020

WT:Not at the moment. We’ll start hitting the stage once it is legal and safe to do so!

MM: What can we expect from Wasting Time live

WT:A bunch of silly guys sweating it out on stage while playing our songs hoping to make those in attendance, dance, yell or laugh.

MM: What do you like best and worst abt touring

WT:We like absorbing the atmosphere and culture of the different places we visit whenever we can and meeting new people. All of the driving required is the worst part.

MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies

WT:Strung Out, Against Me! and Joyce Manor

MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why

WT:Green Day in September 2004, because it was a special small club date just before the release of their American Idiot album and they played the entire album front to back that night. They tore it up on stage as per usual too.

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with

WT:Never giving up on the band despite dealing with the typical obstacles and hardships that a lot of creative projects face.

MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time

WT:Revolver by The Beatles and In Utero by Nirvana

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people watching you?

WT:I played a couple of cover songs in my high school auditorium many moons ago, and while I felt a little nervous at first, I let myself enjoy the thrill of performing and then laughed as my friend made a few botches during one of our songs.

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.

WT:Green Day, The Who, The Beatles

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person

WT:The Beatles

MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now?

WT:Just getting our music out to as many people as possible.

MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?

WT:Vlad has been begging us to cover Not Your Saviour by No Use For A Name for some time now. It’s an uptempo song that we grew up on with a cool opening guitar riff and some great lyrics. We’ll probably get around to playing it eventually.

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band

WT:We’re try to be as genuine as we can with the music we put out, and one can never listen to too much pop-punk in their lives.

MM: Four words to describe Wasting Time

WT:Tacos, whoa, octaves, punk

Final Words for your fans and our readers
