I’m not a band, I’m an artist, music producer and singer 😊
MM: Can you tell us about yourself and whos your biggest influences
I'm 4ra 4ra (reads Ara Ara), and I'm all about making music, singing, and creating
digital art.
I dive into everything because I love expressing myself in every way possible,
bringing complex audio-visual realms to life. If you want to experience driving
energy, madness and digital dystrophy, I’m a Cyber Pop music producer, singer
and digital artist, who simulates this for you through my music. And whos my
biggest influence? I really appreciate the sound-designing skills of Rezz,
Deathpact. Artistically, in terms of artist branding, I sympathize with Grimes,
Poppy, Deathnyann and Lucille Croft.
MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from
As a gamer and virtual space colonizer, various video games, anime, and books
inspire me.
MM: What would you say is your favourite song?
I really like the latest release ‘Need For Drift’ because this song has been by far
my biggest experiment ever. The entire timeline is gradually accelerating in tempo
until it crashes and undergoes enormous changes. From synthwave to
cyberphonk to techno to nightcore! It's funny that it all started from my cover of the
song 'Tokyo Drift,' where I drastically chopped vocals into nonsense. Additionally, I
pitched and bent the melody with a phonk-sounding bell. I also, I wanted to
capture the kind of retro-modern synthwave vibe found in Kavinsky's 'Nightcall' in
breakdowns. In the end I wanted my listeners to experience a dystopian
cyberpunk atmosphere - ultimately, it's a solid chaos, something like a drifting
JPOP song on drugs in a car crash.
MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2023 2024
I'm planning some local shows and hoping for opportunities abroad as well.
MM: What can we expect from 4ra 4ra live
In my cybercore live shows 3D avatar characters dance with me. I strongly
emphasize visuals and always connecting my digital art with my cyber pop music.
I believe my experimentation in music is more pronounced because I don't have
roots in it. I access music as a designer and I always say that I design the sound
more than play the sound.
MM: Which three Bands Artists would be your ultimate touring buddies
I really hope I’d get on the tour with Accacia Carr. Wargasm look like a lot of fun
and Poppy.
MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own)
and why
The 2023 Björk Tour was incredibly absorbing due to its audio-visual complex
show. It was truly out of this world.
MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with
One of my songs, 'Antagonist-chan,' with GrimesAI, made it to the top 10
GrimesAI Spotify songs.
MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time
I love Avril Lavigne's 'The Best Damn Thing' because it's the first album that made
me simp for an artist in my childhood. It's also the first one I bought with my pocket
money. Additionally, Crystal Castles’ III was a true revolution in electronic music,
simp-ing for its innovative sounds.
MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have
people watching you?
It was incredible! One of the best moments in my life. The first live show, where
energy swaps from listeners to performers, heightens THE FEELING where all
ambitions and motivations begin.
MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.
I’m a painter originally so I always have my own paintings on the walls and I still
have ‘em. Sorry, I wasn’t a poster teen.
MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other
person
I think, that one of the most influential figures in Metal / Rock music is undoubtedly
Black Sabbath. Their dark and heavy sound laid the foundation for the genre,
influencing countless bands that followed.
MM - What's the most important thing to you right now?
To be consistent is crucial, as consistency sets the pros apart from the hobbyists.
My focus is also to make a living doing what I love, which is music, and to create
sick albums.
MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?
Tokyo Drift – because it suits my singing range.
MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to you
If they appreciate cyberpunk-themed culture, I'm the right pick. Plus, they can
support a DIY indie artist who is on her own, without any corporate money trying to
buy her soul.
