                                                                                     Leaving Eden  interview 23/11/23

MM: Can you tell us about your Band and who’s your biggest influences?
Hi, and it’s my pleasure to chat with you here. I am Eric Gynan, co-founder of the
band Leaving Eden. We are from The Boston Massachusetts area USA.
Leaving Eden & Silver Springs Fleetwood Mac Tribute is: (2 different bands with
the same members)
Eve Lead vocals
Alyssa Bailey White Keys/Vocals
Jake Gynan Drums
Rich Chouinard Bass/Vocals
Eric Gynan Guitar/Vocals.
What I always say, Leaving Eden’s music is an eclectic array of multi genre
songs from heavy rock/metal to acoustic and everything in between that really
focuses on reality, based upon life’s struggles, and victories, the simple, and yet
most difficult themes that many people may be able to relate to. What you see is
what you get. Those influences have really changed over the years. Some
artists I never cared for later I learned to appreciate the production. Some things
you grow out of. Originally, to get me going my older brother, cousins, and
friends certainly turned me onto bands like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath
when I was a kid. We do the silver springs, Fleetwood Mac tribute, and I couldn’t
stand Fleetwood Mac when I was a kid. But I learned to appreciate their
production and their songs because of the intricate Guitar work of Lindsey

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from?
All year we are writing and then we record everything in Leaving Eden’s studio. I
do all the recording and the first mix. Then we send it off to be co-
mixed/mastered. It’s a process which takes months to complete. We are focusing
more on EP’s and singles so the process will be shorter and more direct.
Everything is generally based on reality. What’s happening to us, or in the world,
how we are feeling in the moment and connecting to the source. Listening to
what the Universe has to say. Most of the time you can hear the entire song

already mixed and playing in your mind's eye. All I have to do is get it from there
to the recording. It’s a blast.

MM: What would you say is your Bands favorite song ?
Out Of The Ashes By Leaving Eden
Record by our good friend Johnny K. (Disturbed, Finger 11, 3 Doors Down, 7
Dust, Pop Evil and so many more). Love it!

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2023
We will be touring up and down the East Coast of the United States right along
the water, which is great. It’s always a party. This is what we all do full-time so
we really enjoy it.

MM: What can we expect from (Leaving Eden) live?
I always say Leaving Eden is best seen live in concert. Sure you can watch
online and catch the vibe but it’s really that sharing of the energy with the crowd
together in a moment in time. Eve is is definitely Universal. I’ve watched her
share the stage with some of the biggest bands in the world and it’s pretty
amazing live.

MM: What do you like best and worst abt touring?
The best is traveling, seeing all the different places that you could never possibly
see, and meeting all the people that you could never possibly meet. That’s really
nothing like it. The worst is the long hours on the road, not getting enough rest
and not having the best food.

MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies?
So many. Black Sabbath, Metallica and Disturbed.

MM: Whats the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own)
and why?
When I was a kid, I saw Pink Floyd. I managed to get down into the front row.
Really loved the light show and all the production for sure was very cool.

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far?

I think, touring, Leaving Eden has Toured The USA, UK & Canada sharing the
stage with hundreds of the biggest national bands in the world including; Lacuna

Zombie, 5 Finger DeathPunch, Disturbed, Marilyn
Manson, Alice Cooper,

Godsmack) Adelitas Way, Scott Stapp (The voice of Creed), Pop Evil, Ratt &
many more. Leaving Eden has toured 47 of the states and USA, Canada and
over the pond in Europe.

MM: Which are your Two favorite Albums of all time?
I never could really afford to buy albums, I had a friend that would record the
radio for me every night, and I would learn material that way. I keep going back
to my older brother, but I remember he had Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, where I
would sit and listen to it laying down with my head on the speakers.

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have
people watching you?
Yes, I believe I was playing in a place called the Rocky club in Lawrence
Massachusetts. There were probably 300 people there and it was awesome.

We thought we were rock stars but little did we know how much work it was
going to be, but it was all worth it for sure without a doubt.

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall?
I didn’t really have posters on my wall but I remember my older brother had a
Kiss poster.

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other
person or band?
Probably Black Sabbath. And us being able to share the stage with them was
very surreal.

MM - Whats the most important thing to the band right now?
We are excited to say that we just signed a new deal with New England based
USA record label Verdict Music/Sony/The Orchard. We have just released a new
EP titled “Reflections.”
Reflections EP
The theme is about looking back, reflecting on the things that have made you
who you are today. The first single off the EP is titled “Dancing By The Fire“
Dancing By The Fire Video By Leaving Eden
It’s quite a simple song by the way.

MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?
We’re going to be recording “School‘s Out” by Alice Cooper. Weve had the
opportunities to share the stage, and was completely blown away by his theatrics
every time, second to none for sure as far as a Stage show goes. I mean, he
hung himself on stage. It was incredible, and it looked so real. Our label wants
us to record that so we will be doing that next.

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band.
I think the energy that’s shared with folks is important. We work hard, are well
rehearsed so for people to see/hear how tight the band is, that matters. We put a
lot into our production. We also like to be very clear with our lyrics so that people
can understand what we’re trying to say. After all, it what you say that’s
probably what’s most important.

MM: Four words to describe (Leaving Eden)
