                                                                         Machine 85 interview 03/01/24

MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences
Hi! Jokke here from Machine 85! Thanks for having me!
I wanted to create my dream band. With my dream lineup. And record my dream
album. Music I've had in my head since I was a kid. So I asked my long time
friends and brothers Alfred and Ulf if they wanted to fly to Nashville with me and
record it. They are the best players I've ever played with. We have worked with
music together for a long time before Machine in different bands in the past. With
Ulf since we where 13 and with Alfred since we where 16.
I grew up listening to what my dad played, Sabbath, Purple, Montrose etc. So I
guess this band is a fusion of all the music I love. Modern influenses are band like
QOTSA, mastodon and Gojira. KILLER bands.

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from
Everyday life. I don't write fiction. It has to be real or I cant sing it. Growing up I
Sweden makes you long for more. The stress of growing old. The hunt for
success. Metal ilnes, fortune and fame.

MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?
I must say its our latest single 20 days. Written 20 days before we flew out to
Nashville. I tells the story about me pretty good. Stress, getting your shit together,
black dogs etc.

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2024
YES! Just started to work with our first management Deadfall. Great guys. So we
are working that out as we speak. Aiming for the summer festivals first I guess.

MM: What can we expect from MACHINE 85 live
Raw energy, sweat and pure joy.

MM: What do you like best and worst abot touring
I LOVE touring. Doesnt mather if its a nightliner or a minivan.

MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies
Mastodon, queens of the stone age and Black sabbath haha

MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own)
and why
First time I saw metallica I was 13. Big stadium. That was fucking awesome
In modern days I saw Alison Kraus with Robert Plant at hyde Park in London. That was crazy

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with
Well, for me it is to finally form this band and follow my dreams. When you get
older you finally realize that its about what you feel, more then the success it self.
Im not doing this for money. This is I much deeper level on the emotional side.

MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time
Impossible question haha. Maybe, Metallica Master of Puppets and Deep purple

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have
people watching you?
Thats when the addiction begun. Haha. I tried a lot of sports and stuff growing up.
All my friends where good at football and such. But I sucked so hard at everything.
So when I got my first guitar and learned it pretty fast, it felt great. Then when I
played my first live show at 9, and I felt that I was somebody, well, you can
imagine the feeling.

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.
Metallica, Metallica and Metallica.

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other
Robert Plant

MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now?
Get our shit together and play live asap.

MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?
Speed King with Deep Purple. Because, well, listen to it. It has it al!
