MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences
I (Eddie) have been working on songs since I was first able to put two chords together...
so a while back haha. I’ve officially started bringing people in on the project in 2017. As
life works in mysterious ways, in late 2019, I had to continue the journey on my own, until
I met Fil, Elliott and Mike. We met this year (2023) at the jam space we share. We hit it
off from the very start and Maverick was up and running again, ready for live
appearances.
So many bands and artists influence us, from all over the place, in almost every genre
there is. We
can’t cease to be amazed by our continuous discoveries of old and new great artists
worldwide.

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from
We like to write made up stories or about our surroundings or what we’re going through
at the time or even goofy random stuff as well. They are as fun and important to us as
deep content where one may find a light of hope. Basically, we let creativity flow and do
it’s will.
Mainly inspired by the 80’s/90’s East Bay punk scene, we tend to put out this old school
skate punk vibe. It sometimes has a bit of hardcore into it, and other times more rock n’
roll riffs... Although we enjoy playing fast and loud, we like to vary a bit from song to
song.

MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?
We have a few. One of the most fun to play however for us is A Girl I Know.

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2023
We have played at a Skate Fest this summer. It was a lot of fun, as always. Perhaps
we’ll play there again next year, along with other festivals, who knows. We’d love that.
We’ve also been speculating about going on tour, but nothing really planned out quite
yet.

MM: What can we expect from Maverick live
Fast and Loud. With us, what you hear is what you get.

MM: What do you like best and worst about touring
The best, is you get to do what we love. Going to new venues, discovering places, bands
and meeting friends make it all feel like an adventure. Downside is that the van can get
crowded and the resting is not optimal. The love of it covers it al though.

MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies

Even if the music wouldn’t necessarily be a match and we don’t all share the same
infatuation for these bands, we’d have to go with Nofx, Green Day and Foo Fighters.
Simply because they seem to be having the most fun touring, and we’re all about that 😊

MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your
own) and why
Oh we can’t agree on that one. They were Cock Sparrer, Gojiro, Green Day and Molotov.
All tremendous, long and satisfying performances. Simply magical to attend such
concerts as fans.

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with
Putting out our first EP Bones Shaker was definitely a big step for us. The first is always
important and memorable ;p

MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time
Again, our answers differ haha. So we all chose 1. And they are: Avenged Sevenfold –
Nightmare, Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon, Green Day – Dookie and Rancid –
Self titled 1993.

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to
have people watching you?
Yes we do. It was actually just like we imagined. Of course, quite stressful haha, but
nonetheless, just like another repetition. The feeling of performing live is always great.
The first time was a bit more nerve-racking however haha

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.
All put together, we had posters of bands such as Gojiro, Avenged Sevenfold,
Lagwagon, Nofx, Rancid, Green Day, Blink-182 and Pink Floyd.

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any
other person
That is too big of a question... We don’t believe it can ever be solved. But surely, The
Beatles are on the list.

MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now?
We’re more focused on shows and preparing new songs for an EP.

MM: If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?
We’re already doing one. It’s Long Tall Sally from Little Richard. For so many reasons,
any of his work is excellent to be covered by any band. People have no clue of the
impact he had on artists and the music business. I mean, rock n’ roll music was my first
true love, so that’s an easy choice. But when you find out that this man is arguably the
founder of rock n’ roll, it just makes it better. Bands like CCR and The Sonics, and even
The Beatles took from him. Practically all of Prince’s style came from that same man.

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band
If you like dirty punk rock, and fast and loud is what you’re looking for, then you should
definitely listen to some Maverick.

MM: Four words to describe Maverick
Shogun to the face.
