                                                                             Monkey Intrusion interview 26/02/24

MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences
Hy folks, we are Monkey Intrusion from Trieste, an average town in the north east of Italy. Our
formation is composed by Vincenzo Reina guitars and voice, Enrico J. Goti voice and guitars,
Marco Bertoli on drums and Marco Plesnicar on bass. Our influences come from different
genres since each member grew with different backgrounds. So they span from Genesis to
Guns & Roses, from the Police to Megadeath and from Led Zeppelin to Foo Fighters just to
make a few examples.

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from
Well, since we all write songs theres no fixed path. Inspirations may come from something
observed while walking, something youve read or simply that chord while you're strumming
that for no apparent reason that day sounds intriguing and then the progression pops out!

MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song?
Wow, as individuals we had to write pages about our favourite songs but as a band we agree
to “All My Life” by Foo Fighters.

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2023
At present we are planning the tour for the release of our album but its still a work in progress.

MM: What can we expect from Monkey Intrusion live
A hell of energy pouring from the stage! And also since we are not so keen of massive post
production in studio the sound that you can hear in the recordings is pretty much what you get
live... plus some improvisations.

MM: What do you like best and worst about touring
This will be the first time that we tour as a band so we can't really answer. Marco P. though has
made the experience with a previous band and he like to say that for both the answer is

MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies
Probably Foo Fighters, Tools and Iron Maiden.

MM: Whats the most memorable concert youve been to (other than your own) and why
Definitely last summers “Rock am Ring”! Such a huge festival with incredible artists on the
three stages! The quality was overall spectacular!

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with

Easy one! Recording the next coming album! Its been our first time with such a huge
commitment but also our biggest dream. The experience was so intense as was the hard work
that it must be the one!

MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time
A good question to start a fight within the band! To avoid casualties let;s say Pink Floyds “The
Dark Side of the Moon” and “Superunknown” by Soundgarden.

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people
watching you?
No body can ever forget that first time! Its a mix of excitement and fear very close to panic...
the desire to vanish into thin air and at the same time to knock out that crowd down there!

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.
Sorry but on the walls there were girls!

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person
Jimi Hendricks! He opened the can of hard rock and laid the bases for metal as well. Cant
really think of the seventies without his prints.

MM - Whats the most important thing to the band right now?
The release of the album in early march and the promotion tour. That will be our real kick off.

MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?
Granted that were not huge fans of covers since cover bands make life difficult in finding
gigs... lets say “Helter Skelter”, this one also was the seed for many genres like punk and
grunge and maybe metal as well.

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band
Because youll be surprised on every track. We arent a genre based band so each song
sounds very different, often times blending various styles in the same track.

MM: Four words to describe Monkey Intrusion
Animals, crazy, energy, fun!

Final Words for your fans and our readers
Thank you for you support and if you see that were gigging in your town come and pay a
visit... well have a lot of fun together! In the mean time you can listen to our music here:
