INTERVIEW WITH RIVER STOLE GODS 7.11.22

 

MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences Adam:

River Stole Gods is a three-piece Progressive Metalcore Band from Germany. We are here since 2019 and had the chance to tour a little, before the pandemic hit us hard. Now we are back with our latest release “Holding On” – the first chapter of our single trilogy “New Eyes”. Our biggest influences are bands like Monuments and Architects, who were definitely a big inspiration for finding our own sound.

 

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from

Adam: Mostly from personal experiences of us and society itself.

 

MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song?

Adam: I think, for the three of us it would be the latest release “Holding On”. It just feels so fluid to play, makes so much fun, as every part is so wellmatching to the other one.

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2022

Adam: For 2023 definitely. We are currently working on making a tour through Europe happen.

 

MM: What can we expect from your band live

Adam: An authentic and energetic performance wanting you to moshpit and go crazy.

 

MM: What do you like best and worst about touring

Adam: Best thing is to see the world and meet great people. Worst thing is the (long) transfer times and lack of sleep. MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies Adam: “Architects”, “Spiritbox”, Monuments”. Would be great to join them on a tour one day.

 

MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why

Adam: The last concert in Cologne, where we played with no drummer, as he got sick the day of the gig. I think the “why” I don’t have to explain. It was a wild show though – shitloads of circle pits and the clearest live sound, we have ever had to date (thank you, digital drums!).

 

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far 

Adam: I think, the biggest accomplishment has been our East Europe tour with Ingested. After one year of being a band setting of for tour was just amazing. Best feeling and experience, I have ever had.

 

MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time

Adam: My favorite albums are “Sound Awake” by Karnivool and “Lost Forever // Lost Together” by Architects. They just shaped my playing style.

 

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people watching you?

Adam: I remember my first concert as if it has been yesterday. I was 14 years old, covering bands like The Offspring and Metallica, I felt just great and knew, that music is the one thing, I want to do for the rest of my life

 

.MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.

Adam: Mostly, band posters of Japanese rock bands like The GazettE and in between that, Foo Fighters and Tool. A wild combination, to be honest.

 

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person

Adam: Difficult to say, as there were so many bands and musicians in the early days, that shaped the genre and sub genres: xx xx xx

 

MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now?

Adam: To finally get back on stage and get to know the people, who enjoy our music, as the last years were impossible, to do lives due to the Corona pandemic.

 

MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why? Adam: I think it would be “Holy Roller” by Spiritbox. This song has insane energy and makes people just go crazy

 

 MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band

Adam: Because we love, what we do, and you can hear it. MM: Four words to describe River Stole Gods. Adam: Bouncy. Rhythm-driven. Catchy. Energetic.
