Title: By Hook or By Crook

                                                                                                       Label: Mighty Music

                                                                                                       Release Date: August 24th 2018

Ok let’s get ready to rumble!! Norway’s Shotgun Rodeo have arrived and let me tell you they have come back kicking, screaming and biting with this entertaining and insightful release “By Hook or By Crook” is the Bands follow up to their 2015 debut “World Wide Genocide”.

The title track opens proceedings, a totally addictive sing along chorus and swirling guitars have you bopping along and bouncing around the room as you bang your head, and join the party with the Rodeo Boys, what a fantastic opener this is, and it just gets better and better as the next track sees Vocalist Nino Escopetas telling you hes “Taking My Life Back” and hell does he mean it!  love the juddering guitar from Don Shrediablo that then breaks into delicious riffage combined with the thudding Bass of Grimmo D.B. and bruising Drumming from Doomfang the opening two songs sure deliver a statement of intent.

Celebrity and fake people are the subject of the next track as materialistic arseholes get the treatment on “Fort Knox” telling it how it is as does the excellent “Y.O.P.B” it’s funny and ironic and am not gonna spoil it by revealing the songs contents, just hold on to your hats and ready to groove and sing along mutha fuckers!

Love the attitude on “Blaming the Kremlin” if you don’t know what this song is about you really do have you head buried deep in the sand, some people just can’t take losing and must blame a different country despite their own deceit, lies and corruption, it’s a killer tune ready and wired for playing live.

Chugging guitars and doom fuelled intensity ensues as “The Band wagon syndrome” sees them step down a gear.

“Shooting Slugs” is totally infectious with its big Bass lines and witty lyrical content, I think this one and the second to last track are my favourites on here, but then it changes every time I listen to this platter.

“Human Hand Grenade” with the agitated “Stereotypical continue to pummel your head, theirs no let-up then we get the excellent “Tony Iommi” its a salute to the “Iron man” its cleverly worked and worded its a fitting homage to the Heritage of Heavy Metal and The Metal Gods Black Sabbath.

“I am the Silver Bullet” is punchy, dynamic and gears you up for the outstanding “Bastardize the World” Lilly livered Liberals run NOW! while you can, this song says how it is and how many millions feel about the current state of affairs, especially in Europe today, this is a truthful take on the fucked up politically correct in power and the millennial snowflakes.

Final track “Twist of the knife “is heavy bad and wounding, a great end to a bad ass second Album from Trondheim’s favourite sons.

To sum up:

At last we have a Band delivering some words on the state of the world, with out caring who they upset these Vikings take no prisoners on this thirteen-track monstrosity.

If ya a freedom of speech hater a sycophant blind-sided twat then “By Hook or By Crook “simply isnt for you, go and find your safe place and listen to some meaningless radio friendly bilge instead!

This platter is for grown ups and people who don’t see the world through rose tinted glasses.

Simply put, its heavy, angsty and full of attitude...I LOVE IT!!!!
