Sig And The Fire Pilots  31/3/23

MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences

Guitars/Vox-Sig Bass/Vox-Dave  Drums/Vox-Duggie , Band was formed just over 1 year ago ,We all like a huge variety of music and styles so we seem to draw from a lot of influences , But me – For who they were , Lennon , Marley & Lynott – For who they are – Tilbrook , Waters-Gilmore & Sumner …Rocky-Poppy-Bluesy-Funky-Reggae , Throw it all in .. Lol

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from  , Inspiration & ideas can come from a wide range of sources ..Can be something someone says , Can be a strange blackbird call from your bedroom window , Can be a guitar lick or that mythical place where dreaming meets reality ..

MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?  Sig-(Coppin a Feel) ,Dave-(She Loves) & Duggie (Rock n Roll It)

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2023  Red Rum Stafford May 7th .Waiting on promoters for Rock & Blues festival & Mayors fest Wolverhampton

MM: What can we expect from you guys live

A punchy up beat live performance with a bit of everything thrown in ( Old Pyjamas Peas Tomatoes , Mutton Beef and Trout ) We do like to rock out though !

MM: What do you like best and worst abt touring . Haven’t had the chance to go touring with Sig And The Fire Pilots so haven’t had any time to pick up any bad vibes .. Tell the truth would love to go see the world and play our music..Bring it ON ..

MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies There is a really lively music scene in Cannock at the moment ,Dave runs The Station in Cannock and we have a lot of local talent ..But I suppose I would have to cite Chrissie Hynde And The Pretenders – Bffy Clyro & Del Amitri ..But that could change …

MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why  I would have to say Pink Floyd The Wall & Thin Lizzy with Robbo & Gorham on guitars ..Blew me away .Screaming so hard (Standing right under Lynott) he asked (What song is it you wanna here ) Phil actually said ..This Ones For You ..(Suicide)

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with  As a band we have done very little as we are only just starting out  ..However , I did take Rob Halford (Judas Priest) On stage on the back of my Motorbike ..

MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time  That’s a hard question , I can’t answer that , I’m sorry ..But – Daves Are – Blood Sugar Sex Magic (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) & Sheer Heart Attack (Queen)  Duggies  are – Welcome To My Nightmare (Alice Cooper) & London’s Calling (The Clash)

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people watching you?  I lost my cherry twice Lol .Had a duo with my best mate and we played covers in a local pub , And I turned to him when we were halfway through and said (We Got Em) He don’t let me forget it ..And then my first band doing original material – That was All Things All At Once .Fabulous and will never forget it …

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall. Growing up it was mainly Motorcycle Posters , But , I had the classic Phil Lynnot on his knees at the front of the stage & A Judas Priest Sin After Sin poster I got from taking Rob on Stage

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person I still like to think it was John Lennon Cause he influenced Blackmore , Page & Plant , Clapton & Hendrix ..Opened the door so others could come through !

MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now? I would have to say (Health) You never know your luck . But second would have to be (A Break) …

MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?  Do a pretty mean version of Angel Of Harlem , Even if I do say so myself Lol .

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band .. I believe Simon Cowell   ( The Karaoke King) is pretty much responsible for the state of the UK music Industry today . he’s got a lot to answer for. There seems to be a huge bottleneck of British Bands that has  built  up , So many great new bands that are trying to break through ..(Need all the help they can get) ..Cowells Saturday night slight (Opium for The People) attitude has helped to kill live music .(In My Opinion) .So , Its not just about Sig And The Fire Pilots , Its about so many struggling bands ..We all gotta try an make it real again ..Get The Zit To Pop ..Ease the Bottleneck ..

MM: Four words to describe (band Name)  Real – Passionate -  Rock n Rollin

Final Words for your fans and our readers

Keep It Real ..

Love Peace And Axel Grease
