                                                                                                                 Stone Sea Interview 06/05/2020

MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences
Ans:Stone Sea is a groove-alt/stoner rock band that had its activities started in Brazil around 2014 but now it’s based in Ireland since 2015 due to the internship of the singer Elvis Suhadolnik Bonesso. Stone Sea has one album (Origins, 2015 – BR) and 2 Eps (Vaporizer, 2017 – IE and Mankind Maze, 2019 -IE) released. The band had one line up change and now counts with Connor Middleton in the Drums and Jonathan Parminter in the bass.

MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from
Ans:Life is our ultimate inspiration. We usually get inspirations from underlying feelings and we let them describe themselves in lyrics and soundwaves.

MM: What would you say is your Bands favorite song ?
Ans:“Mystify” is definitely one of our favorites. It has a great punch when played live, starting the gig. We also like a lot playing “Prelude”, our little mix between bossa nova and stoner rock, it always makes people dance.

MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2020
Ans:We have tour in UK booked for September 2020 for around two weeks going to Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, London and many more. Obviously we’re expecting the current status of the Corona Virus to be gone, so keep an eye in our social media for updates!

MM: What can we expect from Stone Sea live
Ans:Our gigs are like touring throughout human emotions. It can be heavy, sad, might make you want to dance... People can expect anything, really – followed by a grooved-fatty carrousel of riffs.

MM: What do you like best and worst abt touring
Ans:Best is definitely getting to meet new fans and other bands, different places, cultures, there’s always something new going on.
The worst is definitely sleeping in awkward times and places. Or the lack of it, in other words.

MM: What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than your own) and why
Ans:Roger Waters, Kiss and Tame Impala definitely delivered an amazing show, but we’re big fans of the simplicity and created atmosphere of bands like Electric Wizard for example.

MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far with
Ans:Reforming the band in another country with great members that really added to the music. Also winning the competition Crystal Skull Sessions here in Dublin was something that really helped us out at the time.

MM: Which are your Two favorite Albums of all time
Ans:haha, really really hard to point out two. Between the members we would have to go for at least three.
Black Sabbath – Master Of Reality
Nirvana – Nevermind
Megadeth – Rust In Peace

MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people watching you?
Ans:Oh yes definitely, in fact it was terrible, we all got really shy in our first times apart from Jonathan that, strangely, his first time on stage was with us and he was feeling confident. But me (Elvis) and Connor we were teenagers, we wanted to hide behind our instruments and hair. Feeling the butterflies all along the gig.

MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.
Ans:A lot of Nirvana in our teenage days, then it came the Black Sabbath, Slayer, Metallica, Type O Negative, Pantera and so on.

MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person
Ans:To be honest, in Metal, it was definitely Black Sabbath in our eyes. Can’t remember someone using so many times the tritone before them, and all the lyric themes, atmosphere the music brought. It was something completely new for its time. Tony Iommi is God.

MM - What's the most important thing to the band right now?
Ans:Focus on productivity and not getting mad. Being stuck at home is not that easy as it sounds like, we had to be really creative in order to feel useful during these days.

MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?
Ans:We already did a cover that sounded really nice to be honest, of “Superstition” by “Stevie Wonder”. It was a nice heavy/doomy version of it.

MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band
Ans: We get something out of every spectrum of emotion and transform it into waveforms. I’m sure you can swim in one of these waves.

MM: Four words to describe Stone Sea
Ans:Strength, submission, stability and fluctuation.

Final Words for your fans and our readers
Ans:Yeah, we will have soon some new releases (songs, music videos) going on and the full schedule of our tour and changes (if any). So get connected with us by Facebook ( and instagram (@stoneseaband) and be welcomed on board! We won’t bite unless you want.

Thank you so much for the opportunity once again!
