The Haptics 23/11/23
MM: Can you tell us about your Band and whos your biggest influences
Yes! We are The Haptics out of Vancouver, Canada. We play a noisy post punk style that’s
been influenced by The Buzzcocks, Nirvana, The Cure, Joy Division
MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from
Musically it comes from everywhere! The rhythms of life. Jin draws the lyrics from her past and
MM: What would you say is your Bands favourite song ?
We all love “Mouse” right now. Just released in late Sept of this year.
MM: Plans tour and festival wise for 2024
We’re really hoping to get out and play some festivals around BC and Canada this year.
Definitely be playing as much as possible around BC
MM: What can we expect from Haptics live
We try and bring a lot of energy and passion to each and every show. Gotta spread the Haptic
touch as far and wide as possible
MM: What do you like best and worst abt touring
The best are the shows! The worst is most of the rest.
MM: Which three Bands would be your ultimate touring buddies
Loved the Osees lately live! Kicked ass! Iggy and Stooges if they’d just reform for us....?
And could we also go on tour with Alice Cooper? 18 for life!
MM: What's the most memorable concert youve been to (other than your own) and why
Recently saw the Osees at the Commodore here in Vancouver.....two drummers front and
centre. The energy and noise coming from the stage was intense! Loved it!
MM: What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment so far
As a band we are really excited to be getting some radio airplay with our latest singles “Mouse”
MM: Which are your Two favourite Albums of all time
Too many to narrow down to two....but love Nirvana Bleach, and Weezer the Blue record
MM: Can you remember the first time you ever played live and how it felt to have people
Oh ya.....still get nervous but not like that anymore....a friends BBQ/ basement party!
MM: Growing up which Bands posters did you have on your bedroom wall.
The Beatles...lol. and Nirvana
MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal / Rock more than any other person
Wow, so incredibly hard to credit just one person....but if you’re talking rock, the starting point
for rock, then Sister Rosetta Tharpe. She was a big influence on Chuck Berry who inspired so
many to rock!
MM - Whats the most important thing to the band right now?
MM:If you could do a cover of any song which one would it be and why?
We did a cover of Nirvanas “Aneurysm” last year because Nirvana is such an influence on us.
We love that band! It’s our small tribute to a perfect moment in music history.
MM: Tell us why we should buy and listen to your Band
We rock! And I think as a band we write some catchy good songs with some deep lyrical
content. We’re always developing and writing new stuff that will continue to evolve our sound.
MM: Four words to describe (band Name)
Melodic, catchy, noisy, rhythmic
