Having already Reviewed a stellar Thrash Album a few weeks ago, it’s with pure delight “Filthgrinder” from Italian Thrashers XENOS came our way, a pure unadulterated aggressive monster fronted by Eversins Ignazio  Nicastro on Vocals and Bass who founded the Band at the end of 2018 with his technical inspired brand of face melting Thrash Metal this release is relentless and unforgiving.

You can and could be easily fooled  as the opening track gently eases you into  the second song  “Filthgrinder” a furious  tsunami  of high octane  riffs  explode from  Giuseppe Taormina’s Axe  combined with Danilo Ficicchias Drums been beaten into oblivion as  Nicastros thunderous Bass and raw Vocals impress as you find yourself  instantly hooked  as the title of this nine track monster  embeds itself into your brain“.

Personal favourite on here is “Post Apocalypse Breed” which bleeds pure molten Metal and reminds me of Slayer, in fact this wouldn’t of been out of place on any of their works of art, this is essential listening with incredible riffs and neck snapping insanity.

There is no chance of catching your breath as “Birth of a Tyrant”  annihilates your senses it’s a battering ram of a song , with the added bonus of Jeff “Mantas” Dunn making an appearance and releasing a salvo of steel encrusted delirium. Heads will continue to be banged as “So Old, So Cold” batters your body with its hellish intent.

“Angel of Silence” is the illegitimate   bastard child of Slayer, Exodus and Megadeth thrown into a melting pot of insane riffs and killer instincts. Talking of Megadeth we get a version of “Peace Sells” and being a huge Megadeth fan back in the day I would say this is as good as the original.

Final track sees Si Cobb from Anihilated feature on “of Magma  and War”  a truly brutal finish to a wicked release from these Italian aficionados.

So 2020 is already looking to be an awesome year for Metal and “Filthgrinder” ticks all the boxes..IT RAWKS, THRASHES AND STRAINS YA NECK… HELL YEAH!!
